As drinking culture declines and loneliness is on the rise, Semiprecious’ mission of community is an important tenet of the business; first and foremost, Jon wanted to serve his neighbourhood and it’s community.
Semiprecious is a bar that’s co-owned by hospitality veterans Mike Capoferri and Rahul Marwah, and the Denver-based design studio Wunder Werkz. Located below Wunder Werkz’ office, the studio’s founder and director, Jon Hartman, always had plans for a neighbourhood-serving bar in the space. After reaching out to long-term collaborators Mike and Rahul, the concept quickly turned into partnership with drink and design at its core. “For a long time, I’ve felt that design is more than a veneer that you slap on a project at the end, once all the important decisions have been made,” says Jon.
